Rocky Raccoon

          
       The Beatles portray the wild west through this song because from my understanding is telling us to fight for where we want to get to. That no matter how hard things may seem at the end you have to fight till the end to get what you want. This song takes place in the black mining hills of Dakota where most of the people in the west went to. In the song it uses rocky as the guy from the west and the girl as the tragedies they went thought in my perspective. This song may not portray the whole wild west but it has similar things to it.

Organ Trail

　
             This game of Oregon trail could potentially connect with learning by teaching you about the trails that the western people took. It shows you how much food, clothing, equipment, ect, they really needed. It shows you how people got sick and how much work they had to do while traveling. It shows you the path and teaches you how things really were like in this game.

I disagree

              When Thoreau said “that government is best which governs least”, I think this meant that the government is not like what we think and that we have to accept it no matter what or something like that. I don’t agree because if it does mean that I don’t think we have to accept the government if we don’t like it but we do have to follow everything just because one persont cant over throw the government.

Reconstruction

          The effects that the Reconstruction had on former slaves were that they were now United States citizens and they now could vote, go to school, and get jobs that paid money. Since black men were now able to vote, they were now able to run for sheriff and government positions. They had many more opportunities that they never had before with this new law. But with this law white people did not approve of it and it had many effect from it like northern soldiers were positioned in the South to enforce the Reconstruction laws. The soldiers were there to make sure blacks could vote in elections, be treated fairly in jobs and court, and go to school and also prevent attacks by southern whites. They were better off after the Reconstruction than they were before the civil war because there wasn’t as much discrimination and the slaves were treated fairly.

Amnesty

              During the reconstruction there were great debates over whether the south should be granted amnesty, My thoughts about this were that there shouldn’t had been any debates in the first place since I don’t like the fact that they were such a thing as a slavery. I think they should of let slaves be free from the start, but there was so when they did debated this I think it should of had been approved right away. Humans in general shouldn’t be treated with such disrespect as they did with the slaves. Even though it took some time to give the south amnesty, I’m glad they did stop it.
