SEXist!

1950 Armour Canned Meats #023619

This picture for me is sexist because it technically saying that man can’t cook. “Two easy meals men really go for”. Since they are in a can it’s easy just to put it in a plate and call it dinner. And in this picture it’s saying that they go for the easy things.

Influence easy ?

Over the years Technology has grown out more than ever starting from telegraph to now using the internet. Society’s way to connect now a day is by internet or television to find out the newest things and connect with the world itself. Media has been taken to a new level and teenagers most of all have been affected by this. Media take billions and billions of dollars to show advertisement that could most likely be fake, and as gullible as we are we believe every bit of information they advertise to us and we end up buying their product. There can be good and bad advertisement, the good can be the books they are selling or the big event that encourages teens to go play or do with their friend, but most advertisement is bad like the fast food places that take out new products and try to sell it to us, or the reality shows that are shown that influence us in a bad way, the way celebrities carry them self and us wanting to do the same cause we think “it cool”. All this comes to just one question Does media influence the actions of teenagers? And my answer is yes! We have seen of how everything back in the 1950’s were a picture perfect seen in television and how now it’s just goes downhill. We have seen for the past two years the show “Jersey Shore” has made a huge impact on teenagers. Of going out clubbing, doing the “fist pump” or doing the poof like snookie has come to an incredible sense of stupidity. Teenagers see this kind of behavior on television and makes them want to do the same to be able to fit in and know the terms like GTL ( gym, tan, laundry), cause if you don’t know them you are consider a “dork”. If the jersey shore cast has an impact on kids to go out and do things they do, they should use the publication to do better things in life, like helping out the community and maybe more results of teenagers doing this will help. I believe that television and media has increased so much but in a bad way and I feel that this should change.

the MAJESTIC (:

Introduction: Peter has just directed his new movie, called "Sand Pirates of the Sahara". His life is going well he has a lot of money, drives a nice car, and has a good-looking girlfriend. Just when his life is perfect, Congress accuses him of being a Communist when they discover he attended a Communist meeting in college. As this happens his new movie that he is doing Ashes to Ashes gets canceled. The only reason he attended was to impress a girl he likes.
Problem #1: After Congress wrongly accuses him; he is depressed and gets drunk. Attempting to drive, he cashes his car into the side of a bridge. Him and his car fall into the fast flowing river and begin to flow fast downstream and hit his head so hard he blacks everything out. He wakes up on the beach with a dog in his face and an old man greeting him. He has no memory of anything in his life. So the old man takes him into the town.
Problem #2:  When he enters the town many people say he looks familiar and greets him very well. After eating at a diner that the old man took him into, the old man takes him to see the Doctor of the town. Luke's dad walks up to him thinking it’s his son and takes him home. He tells Peter that he is his son. Since Peter doesn't remember anything and believes everything that this man is telling him and he now thinks he is Luke Trimble, he finds out that the town had lost a lot of young men and sons because of World War II and Luke Trimble was one of them but they never found his body to prove he had died. Now that Peter thinks he is Luke, when Luke's high school girlfriend sees him they began to talk again. She helps him try to remember his earlier life but he still doesn’t remember. The Majestic is the old movie theater in the town. Luke and his father own it and they began working on it to fix it up for re-opening. Everyone helps them put the theater back to the way it was and it was great when they finished it.

Problem #3:.Peter watches his movie "Sand Pirates of the Sahara" and figures out his Peter not Luke. Luke's father falls ill of a heart attack which will later kill him in the re-opening of the majestic, and Luke's Father dies without knowing Peter was not his son Luke. The Communist Witch Hunt comes for Peter after they had investigated him for a while. The whole town finds out that Peter is not Luke, which is a very sad moment because they needed him to be Luke so they have hope of the others sons that died at war. The FBI roll into town to arrested Peter and tell him to testify in court the next day. Peter at this point is very confused and doesn’t know what to do. Luke's high school sweetheart tells Peter to stand up for what himself and what's right in the United States and for the freedom of others. Peter does not know what to do and goes to Court with a letter from Luke to his girlfriend which encourages Peter to stand up to the Supreme Court. The court case is live on television so everyone can watch, Peter does not testify, but stands up for the sons of the small town in California and for those who died in World War II. He also reads part of the Constitution and says this is not American this is not freedom which speaks for everyone in the United States.
Conclusion:  Peter is released from the court and the lawyer in the car says he has won the court case and does not have to go to jail because he stated the girl’s name that was also in Hollywood. Peter returns to the California town, and is greeted by a band and everyone in the village, it was a celebration.
He finds Luke's high school sweetheart that he now loves and creates a family and runs the Majestic.

my ART story (:

My name is Norman Diackwell and every day after school I would go to the back of the baseball stadium where there would be a big long fence that wouldn’t let me see the game. I would just go there to think and get away from everyone for a while. Then one day as I was playing with my ball, I accidently threw it so far that when I went to get it, I saw there was a hole. I am a curious person, so I decided to pick threw it and that when I saw everything that was going on in the other side of the fence. A famous baseball game was going on and I Norman Diackwell was experiencing it. I saw people cheering in one side and in the other I saw people with worried faces which made me guess that side was losing.  I could smell the popping popcorn and the fried hot dogs. I could see the peanuts on the floor and I could just hear the crunch of it when people stepped on it. I stayed that whole afternoon seeing how the game ended. By the end of the night I decided to carve my name at the bottom of the hole because it seemed like I was the first person to see that hole in the fence. I was so happy I threw my ball and it landed where it did because I for the first time got to experience a baseball game live from behind that fence.
